Brian Matthew - RIP
|
BBC Radio 2 broadcaster Brian Matthew is critically ill, the station has clarified after initially announcing his death. The BBC had originally been informed by a member of Matthew's family that he had died.
A spokesman for the corporation said: "We were informed by close family and friends that Brian had passed away in the night.
"They have since been in contact to say that he remains critically ill." The statement added: "We will update with more information when we have it. Our thoughts remain with his family at this very difficult time."

The BBC sacked him to huge public outrage about 3 months ago. They just want him dead.
RIP or Get Well Soon. Whichever.
'And in 1968 Marmalade had a huge hit with somethingorother. But here's the B-side of their fourth single that nobody's every heard of'. That was his catchphrase.

That made me chuckle, and is so true. Most of what he played were obscure B-sides and there was usually a very good reason they were obscure.
I liked Saturday club though.
